im confused why they chose those specific bands to be in big font

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2014 10:26 PM

No Grimes = no fun

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2014 10:27 PM

10:27 is clearly more drawn to faggy fashion posturing than talent or skill. Gotta be nice to live in a bubble made of bullshit

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2014 10:29 PM

Fuck yeah this lineup is great

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2014 10:50 PM

Yeah, I guess if you have nothing better to do...

Posted by Anonymoose | May 19, 2014 11:11 PM

Judas Priest remember when metal was fun.

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2014 11:22 PM

PLEASE KING DIAMOND IN NYC WE NEED THAT BLOODY TEA

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2014 11:36 PM

Greg Dulli is so fat that when they can't fit the Afghan Whigs on the bill, they REALLY can't fit them on the bill.

Can anyone explain why DFA1979 gets huge billings on these festivals. They have released less than 20 songs in their career and they sound very dated and forgettable. Yet promoters think the public still cares that much about them? Its been 10 years, who gives a shit?

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2014 11:59 PM

Neutral Milk Hotel. Well, well, well. Another summer ... another season of festival shows that showcase the same two albums as the time before and the time before that. Gummy & Co. need to wrap this joke up and go back to Athens. Record new music or GTFO. The only band that deserves to be in big font is Run The Jewels. OK, FlyLo is pretty great too. Did ya'll know he's Alice Coltrane's nephew? Word. And of course, the great Yo La T. Awww, shit! Madlib and FG are performing! I was just telling ya'll that I was groovin' to that release! Damn.

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2014 12:19 AM

Maybe if it were free. But even then...

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2014 1:05 AM

Oh, 11:59 ...

Let's break this bad bitch down, shall we? You're asking a question to all of us BV readers as to why said shit band gets huge billings, right? Right. Please use a question mark when you ask, well, a question. After "career", in the second sentence, you need a comma. Next sentence, you are pausing after Yet so you'll want a comma after that. And you use a question mark there? It's an odd choice, to be honest. Imma let you have a pass on that one, however. But the last sentence you have is an epic clusterfuck that I like to call comma mother fucking splice. Either make that comma after "years" a period and start "who" with a "W". Or, you turn that comma into a semicolon. I think you have the good fight inside. Dig a bit deeper next time. I believe in you. xo

Excellent!

The orange day is good as long as you bail early. Neutral Milk Hotel needs to go on hiatus again seriously. For a recluse that dude has played philly like 6 times in 2 years.

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2014 8:06 AM

LOL 1:57 TL;DR ... AGAIN!

You REALLY need to be funny if you're going to try that hard, friend.

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2014 8:40 AM

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2014 8:59 AM

Oh look everyone, Gorilla Biscuits playing yet another show not in NYC for the $$$$$.

Ever gonna play your hometown fellas?

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2014 9:11 AM

1:57 - yer a fucking tool

and DFA79 are irrelevant

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2014 9:22 AM

GBV does not deserve mid-tier billing

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2014 9:38 AM

@9:11 They played BNB Bowl @ Webster Hall in 2011. Where were you?

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2014 9:39 AM

Dear 1:57,
Your writing is cumbersome and unintelligible. You are an amateurish moron.

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2014 10:04 AM

Speaking of cumbersome, is DFA 1979 less relevant than Seven Mary Three?

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2014 10:20 AM

DFA 1979 rock balls, I don't know what you hipster pussies listen to. List 3 bands that you think are the shizzle, or STFU

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2014 10:28 AM

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2014 10:42 AM

King Diamond. Fucking A!

Posted by E.L. Fudge | May 20, 2014 10:56 AM

Holy Shit Blood Brothers reunion! Those assholes better hit NYC before they implode!

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2014 12:05 PM

NMH again?!

They played two shows in Austin already this year.

Drop them and book Slowdive instead.

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2014 12:21 PM

Is VICE paying someone off?????? Or maybe they just want to get the audience good and angry to produce a blood sacrifice for King Diamond in the form of two past-their-prime, undeserving musicians forced upon a metal audience that is pushing their way to the front for maximum vantage point. It should make a good article: the execution of our failed mid-aught signing.

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2014 7:57 PM

music fests are comin back, huh?

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2014 8:13 PM

Hey 9:39pm

1. 2011 was three years ago. They've played alot of shows elsewhere since and it smacks like they don't want to play NYC because they're not being offered enough $$$ what else? Hence Gorilla Bi$$$cuits.

2. I was doing something better than going to an overpriced, overbooked show with bands who were shadows of their 1991 selves they were trying to emulate with that 2011 show, GB included.

3. They didn't even play Rev 25 in NYC in late 2012 which I consider/ed a diss to NYC so fuck them. Seriously, they couldn't play that? Chain Of Strength did, even Sick Of It All who hated Rev for years did.

Posted by Anonymous | May 21, 2014 5:28 AM

"which I consider/ed a diss to NYC" hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

Posted by Anonymous | May 21, 2014 8:01 AM

GB is wack Ineedtopaymycablebillfortheyearwiththisshowcore shit now.

Posted by Anonymous | May 22, 2014 11:15 AM

Why would GB care about NYC or hardcore in 2014? They're adults. Like most reunited hardcore acts, they've grown up and moved on, but why not play the occasional show for a ton of money? It's easy enough.

Posted by Anonymous | May 22, 2014 11:54 AM

I suspect 5:28 AM is D. lol, 5:28 Am.

Posted by Anonymous | May 22, 2014 12:04 PM
