Not sure what the weather is like where you are reading this but today is supposed to be NYC's first scorcher of 2014, with temperatures grazing 90°. So it seems appropriate we're premiering the debut EP by Montreal band Heat. With a sound somewhere between the Jesus & Mary Chain and The Strokes, the record is equal parts hooks, melody and attitude. The EP is out June 7 but you can stream the whole thing now below.

While no shows for Heat below the Canadian border just yet, they do have some shows coming up above, including the Montreal stop on the Parquet Courts / Protomartyr tour next week and they'll be at NXNE 2014 too.

List of dates and the EP stream below...

Heat - 2014 Tour Dates
06/05/2014 Pantoum, QUEBEC w/ Passwords
06/09/2014 Il Motore, MONTREAL w/ Parquet Courts, Tyvek, Protomartyr
06/21/2014 Silver Dollar, Pop Montreal NXNE showcase w/ Seoul, Diamond Bones +

Love the laid back Lou Reed style vocals. Great stuff indeed.
