The Chicago line up is insane!

Posted by Anonymous | May 14, 2014 10:57 AM

you'll have to wade through lots of mallcore and mallpunk. having said that, the cure, social d, patti smith, naked raygun, SAMHAIN!!!, paul weller, cock sparrer, billy bragg, bob mould, STIFF LITTLE FINGERS, superchunk, mudhoney, 7 seconds, buzzcocks....that's pretty damn impressive. I dare you to tell me there is any other festival out there that beats that lineup.

I hope samhain does a ny show - they didn't on the 99 tour -

Posted by Anonymous | May 14, 2014 11:02 AM

sausage fest

Posted by Anonymous | May 14, 2014 11:02 AM

^For that kind of line up I'll deal with the mall core or mall punk add ins. Why can't NYC have a festival like Riot Fest, FYF or FFF!?

Posted by Anonymous | May 14, 2014 11:04 AM

At least we'll have House of Vans shows where hipsters show up not to see bands but drink for free....

Jessica Hernandez and The Deltas will be headlining Night 8 of CityFest 2014. Details on the CityFest 2014 Metrocard presale will be forthcoming.

Why bother calling it Riot Fest Denver since it is no where close to Denver?

Posted by Anonymous | May 14, 2014 11:22 AM

Kinda sucks they gave up on an NYC Riot Fest. These lineups are definitely the best out of all the summer festivals.

Posted by Anonymous | May 14, 2014 11:25 AM

amazing lineup

Posted by Anonymous | May 14, 2014 11:25 AM

Yeah Doug!

Posted by Anonymous | May 14, 2014 11:42 AM

Yeah, it sucks NYC never gets any Riot Fest/FFF kind of festivals. I assume it's because it's more expensive to do a festival here and organizers of those fests don't have tons of money, but still. Way more people would trek out to NYC than Colorado.

Don't fret Posted by Anonymous | May 14, 2014 11:45 AM, CityFest 2014 will cure your festival ills.

Any ideas what the unannounced bands will be in Chicago?

There was a fake lineup that leaked yesterday, very similar but also included modest mouse, death cab for cutie, braid, american football, and some others I can't think of offhand.

204 Neutral Milk Hotel? They have a nice gap between their Canada and California show. Probably can't announce it till Pitchfork fest is over.

Posted by Anonymous | May 14, 2014 2:53 PM

Slayer? Fuck ya!

Posted by Anonymous | May 14, 2014 3:16 PM

Slayer? You mean the Kerry and Tom show? Time to have a few more spiders bite people and let them have a reunion in HELL!

Posted by Anonymous | May 14, 2014 3:22 PM

253, good guess, now that you mention it they were one of the bands listed in the 'leaked' lineup

GWAR seems unlikely since the frontman Dave Brockie passed on in March.

Posted by Anonymous | May 14, 2014 5:07 PM

Presumably they have taken that into consideration then.

Friend sent me this lineup with filled-in unannounced bands - no idea if real, he said somebody from one of the bands playing posted it to his facebook (only new additions I see are motorhead and slint)
