This festival is like, half really good and half complete garbage. I can't imagine being at a festival with people excited to see Billy Talent and awolnation.

9:35 just described 95% of festivals in the US

not a great lineup, but exponentially better than any of this summer's festivals. ACL, Gov's Ball, Bonaroo, Lollapalooza... all garbage.

I might even be in Toronto then for other reasons, but Thurston Moore likely won't do any SY songs, The New Pornographers are unlikely to have their best singer with them (Neko Case, whose solo career thrives), & there's no Mazzy Star or Dum Dum Girls in the lineup! Pass.

I thought Riot Fest was a punk fest? LOL FLAMING LIPS. Lots of shite bands on this and some bands I'd be excited about if this was 2000. Buzzcocks, Social D, Bob Mould and Bob Weller sound good to me but no enough to make the trek up there eh. Hopefully this means Buzzcocks swing by and do east coast dates around this.

^Who is Bob Weller?

Paul Mould's cousin I believe. He's one of the TBA.

I am old. I remember seeing the Buzzcocks at Maxwell's twice in the late 90s/early 2000s.

This was much better last year when it was a punk festival...

Isn't it ironic that the National are playing a festival called Riot Fest? Uh oh, some people are actually starting to Riot, let's put them to sleep with the National songs.

Last year's Toronto riotfest was 1 stage, 8 bands, it wasn't much of a festival tbh, I forget who opened, I got there for Best Coast, Rocket from the Crypt, Dinosaur Jr., Weakerthans, Iggy Poop, and the Replacements. The Chicago riotfest was a much bigger event, 3 days, looks they're going in between for this one, lineup is ok, a lot of secondary bands, bands I wouldn't go out of my way to go to a festival for, but would check out if already at a festival

I'm surprised, this is actually pretty good.

Toronto had a shit lineup last year other than the Mats.

Lineup is not awesome, but taken as a whole it is pretty solid

You misspelled Iggy's last name. It's Pop, not Poop.

You also spelled Best Coast wrong, it's Best Poop; Rocket from the Crypt is correctly spelled Rocket from the Poop, and Dinosaur Jr. should read Dinosaur Poop.
