Swearin' headlined an all-around great bill at Brooklyn Night Bazaar on Saturday (5/17) that also included drummer Jeff Bolt pulling double duty in Radiator Hospital, plus Aye Nako and Even Hand. They sounded excellent as ever with a set of their trad-style indie rock that's really too flat out fun and refreshing to sound "revivalist" or anything. They played plenty of favorites, including "Movie Star," "Kenosha," "Echo Locate," "Dust in the Gold Sack" and more from both of their albums and their EP, and didn't leave a dull moment in their 15-song set. Amanda got pictures of their set which are in this post, but had come late after shooting OFF! at Bowery Ballroom and missed the openers.

I caught the openers though, and really everyone was great. Radiator Hospital treated us to a good amount of new material (they're planning on releasing a new album this year), and the old favorites ("Our Song," "Lose Sight of You," etc) were as terrific as ever. Aye Nako also had a typically solid set which ended with a cover of The Cranberries' "Dreams." And Even Hand, who kicked off the show, provided crunchy indie rock that fit well with all the bands to follow.

Both Swearin' and Radiator Hospital will team up in NYC yet again for the PopGun Northside party happening on June 15 at Glasslands which also includes Bent Shapes. Tickets for that show are on sale now, or you can try to get in using your Northside badge. That's during Swearin's tour which didn't previously have a NYC date. Updated dates on that tour are listed below.

That show is one day after Grrrl Fest at Silent Barn which Swearin' were initially announced for but do not play (and which set times were just posted for).

Radiator Hospital also play NYC again this Friday at Silent Barn (5/23) with Free Cake For Every Creature, Frankie Cosmos, Quarterbacks and Adult Mom. More info here.

Salesperson: "Work, huh? Let me guess. Computer programmer? Computer magazine columnist? - Something with computers."

Homer: "Well, I use a computer."
