Phosphorescent at Prospect Park in 2013 (more by Dana (distortion) Yavin)
Phos

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight's shows, but here are some more highlights...

Phosphorescent @ Webster Hall
Fresh off appearances at Sasquatch and Boston Calling festivals, Matthew Houck and crew finish off the weekend with this show. If you haven't checked out out last year's Muchacho, he takes Phosphorescent's Brooklyn country into pleasingly experimental territory.

Red Fang, Big Business, American Sharks @ MHOW
Three hits of stoner rock at Music Hall of Williamsburg tonight from Red Fang, Big Business and American Sharks who all bring the seriously Big Riffs.

Yonatan Gat, Tonstartssbandht, Yvette @ Baby's All Right
Yonatan Gat of Monotonix celebrates the release of his solo debut EP, Iberian Passage -- inspired by Brazilian cult band Os Mutantates and the improvisational spirit of Miles Davis -- tonight with two very solid openers.

Torn Hawk, Regal Degal, The Future of What, Limited @ Cameo Gallery
Torn Hawk is the moniker of Brooklyn's Luke Wyatt, who makes instrumental electronic music with chillwave-style nostalgia but a knack for more experimental sounds too (he namedrops Sonic Youth, Glenn Branca, Philip Glass, and Steve Reich as formative influences). Opening act Limited is Alex Craig from Big Troubles and Ducktails in Big '80s synthpop/R&B mode.

Onion Flavored Rings, Shellshag, Girl Crush @ Death by Audio
Among the bands playing DbA tonight is NYC DIY veterans Shellshag who are always worth catching.

Hauschka, Jeffrey Zeigler @ Glasslands
German musician Hauschka's roots are in techno, but for this project he utilizes prepared pianos, a concept made famous by John Cage and others, though Hauschka claims he wasn't familiar with Cage when he first came up with the idea to do so.

Echo Friendly @ Rough Trade
Brooklyn duo Echo Friendly make unabashedly pop music, full of ringing guitars and "whoa oh" choruses. Think Guards shrunk down to two very energetic people.

Total Slacker, Future Death, Sunflower Bean @ The Studio at Webster Hall
Brooklyn '90s lovers Total Slacker hit The Studio at Webster Hall tonight for another hometown gig.

Skyzoo & Torae "Barrel Brothers" album release @ The Wick
Brooklyn rapper Skyzoo has a new collaborative album with Torae out today which features production from Oh No, Illmind, Black Milk, DJ Premier and others, plus guest spots from Sean Price, Guilty Simpson, Blu and more. Tonight they celebrate at The Wick.

Ratos de Porao, Hank Wood and the Hammerheads, Warthog @ 538 Johnson
Hardcore/thrash vets Ratos de Porao just played MDF, but before they head back to Brazil they'll team up with two of NYC's finest in punk for this last-minute show tonight.

For all of tonight's shows, and tomorrow's, check out our NYC concert calendar.

For laughs, check out the NYC Comedy calendar too.
