Code Orange

We are code orange. We are code orange kids. If a word being moved around shakes you up....get off board now.

Out with the old. In with the new. No mercy. [via Facebook]

It looks like Code Orange Kids have all grown up, because they've just announced their new album, I Am King, and it's set to come out under the name Code Orange. (So far this sounds better than when the Beach Boys contemplated going as just "Beach.") The new record was recorded and engineered by Converge's Kurt Ballou and it will be out on September 2 via Deathwish. No music is out from it yet, but check out the album artwork and tracklist below.

Code Orange were supposed to play Cambridge's Deathwish Fest in July, but dropped off. They don't have any plans to play NYC at the moment, but they do have a short tour with Killswitch Engage and Ringworm around the time all three bands play Philly's This Is Hardcore that stops by the NYC-area on July 20 at The Loft in Poughkeepsie. Maybe seeing Code Orange and Ringworm in Poughkeepsie with Killswitch (and After the Burial) isn't your ideal way of seeing them, but if you're planning on making the trip up there, you can get tix. All dates are listed below.

As we recently mentioned, Adventures (whose lineup includes 3/4 of Code Orange), signed to Run for Cover who will put out a split with Pity Sex on the label in the near future. They just wrapped up a tour with Seaheaven and Foxing that we caught in NYC at The Studio at Webster Hall (pics).

Meanwhile, the great Ringworm will be in NYC this Saturday (6/7) at Europa on their tour with Eyehategod and Enabler. Tickets for that show, which also features Shitkill, are still available.

a name change doesn't really matter if you're a band with < 300 fans.

Good live band. Not crazy about the music, but name changes always perplex me. Yes, YOU may not know them but they've been making a name for themselves in hardcore for a few years now. There is a precedent for this when End of a Year changed their name to Self Defense Family. Although that is a very drastic change.

Code Orange LOL.

Pittsburgh always been a fucking joke for hardcore punk.

The only good thing that ever came out of Pittsburgh was Will Sheppler.
