Death from Above 1979 have been semi-active again for a few years now, playing occasional shows. This year they've got the Riot Fest Toronto (September 6 - 7) and Fun Fun Fun Fest (November 7 - 9) on their 2014 schedule. When those dates come around, though, the band will have a new album out, The Physical World, their first in 10 years and only the second one they ever made (due out September 9 via Last Gang). Stay tuned for more details.

No new music to be heard yet, but flash back to 2004 with the video for "Romantic Rights" below...

Fucking amazing news! Hope it's a bit better than what Sebastien Grainger has been putting out lately.

Keeler should have joined Queens Of The Stone Age when he had the chance.

The only band that BV commenters like is the Replacements

@12:14

HAHA! Have you ever actually listened to DFA 1979 or any of the bands you listed?

I mean, literally, none of them sound alike. Totally different styles. Keeler runs circles around all these guys.

The only similarities lie in 2-piece gimmick.

Please dude, leave the music commentary to your gf.

This band was terrible, and the only reason anyone likes them is high school nostalgia. Only dweebs liked this band the first time around, and those same aging dweebs like them today.

I recall there being some decent songs on that album, nothing world changing but the opener was pretty cool, a song about sex I forget the name was pretty good too
