The Shrines at Webster Hall in 2013 (more by Dylan Johnson)
As mentioned, King Khan will be in NYC when he and his band The Shrines bring their tour with Red Mass to LPR on Friday (6/6) (tickets) and MHOW on Saturday (6/7) (tickets).
After that, he and the Shrines will be sticking around for a FREE show at Manhattan Inn on Monday (6/9) with DJ Jonathan Toubin. Manhattan Inn is tiny, that should be a crazy show. Also a late one, starting at 10 PM.
UPDATE: The band and some of their representatives tell us that, despite what Manhattan Inn is listing, King Khan and the Shrines will NOT be playing there.
King Khan will be back in NYC this fall when his band the BBQ show tours with Black Lips.
The same night as King Khan's free-or-not-happening Manhattan Inn show, folk legend Ed Askew plays a free early show (7 PM) with Abhay Singh. Later int he month, Ed hits the stage in NYC again on June 23 at Cake Shop with Opal Onyx and George Sand. Also Monday: King Khan's current tourmates Red Mass play The Flat.
Sooner than that, The Walkmen's Hamilton Leithauser plays Manhattan Inn too.
