Sky Ferreira at Rough Trade in 2013 (more by Chris La Putt)
Sky

NYC pop singer Sky Ferreira has international festival appearances coming up this summer in Canada, Australia and Japan, but before all that she'll play a hometown show on July 9 at Music Hall of Williamsburg. The show is a benefit for the David Lynch Foundation which "funds Transcendental Meditation (TM) programs for at-risk students; veterans with PTSD; women who are survivors of domestic violence; American Indians suffering from diabetes; the homeless and incarcerated." Ladies Night, VIto Roccoforte (of The Rapture), and special guests will be DJing. Tickets go on sale Wednesday (6/18) at noon. All dates, including a previously discussed free show in Montauk, are listed below.

In other news, you may have heard by now that Sky was recently interviewed on a talk show in Brazil (home of the 2014 World Cup) where the interview didn't exactly pick the best question. Huffington Post reports:

Everything seemed to be going fine until the Gentili asked, "Do you think everybody loves your work because of the music or also because of the cover ... and because of the tits." (Yes, the album artwork for "Night Time, My Time" features one of Ferreira's breasts.) The singer kept her cool though and answered, "I'm pretty sure it's because of my work, but it helps if you're a pervert."
Watch the video of that interview, with the list of dates, below...

What's inappropriate about the question?

Show up with tits out on your album cover ... there's a fairly good chance some interviewer will ask about it. It's like when Frankie (I used to pull espresso at Greenpoint Coffee Shop) Rose had nude action on that magazine cove. The boyz know how that all turned out.

7:15 IS A VICTIM BLAMER

YOULL NEVER GET LAID IN THIS TOWN AGAIN BUDDY

Hi. 7:15pm here. Victim blamer? I'm fairly certain I was simply stating the obvious. Let's break this bad boy down, shall we, friend?

I commented how she had posed for her album cover completely topless. Which, she did. That's a fact. We agree upon that, right? Right. After that, I stated that, should one performed the aforementioned act of said photography modeling, it's more than likely that some interview, regardless of country of origin but probably more likely from a place more openly sexual than the US of A ... will Mos Def be inquiring about such performance. It's neither placing blame, applauding, making fun of or anything else. I'm simply stating the obvious. An observation, if you will. It's like me stating that you seem to be fairly ignorant and do not comprehend well.

If anything, this is a topic that should be probed much deeper in interviews.

Questions like "why did you feel the need to have your tits on the cover of your album?"

They aren't inappropriate; they are common sense. And I'd love to hear Sky Ferreira sliding in and out of interviews and constantly having to address this question by trying to act like she is doing anything but selling sex remixed by blood orange.

fat girls are obsessed with the concept of victim blaming.

I don't find her attractive and I don't like her music.

The singer kept her cool though and answered, "I'm pretty sure it's because of my work, but it helps if you're a pervert." - Pathetic lamestream american media. Wow, she kept her cool...

Also, how does me liking your saggy tits you have put on your album cover make me a pervert exactly?
