Falls of Rauros at The Acheron in 2012 (more by Samantha Marle)
Falls of Rauros

Two of the northeast's best atmospheric black metal bands, Falls of Rauros and Obsidian Tongue, along with the NYC electronic/synth/guitar wizard Oneirogen, will be playing an Invisible Oranges-presented show at Union Pool on August 27. Advanced tickets for the Brooklyn show aren't on sale yet, but we'll let you know when they are.

Falls of Rauros just released a song on a split with Panopticon and has a new LP, Believe in No Coming Shore, due out this summer. The tracklist is below. The NYC show is part of an as yet unannounced string of dates that includes Southern Darkness Festival in Tampa, Florida on August 23rd with Pelican, Phobia, Black Tusk, Weekend Nachos, Bongripper, A Storm Of Light, Lord Mantis, Primate, Magrudergrind, Mouth Of The Architect, Yautja, Sannhet, Maruta and many more.

Obsidian Tongue released one of the best atmospheric black metal albums of 2013 in A Nest of Ravens in the Throat of Time. They can also be found on 9/6 at Waterfront Tavern in their home state of Massachusetts.

Oneirogen is a blast to watch, a one-man force of nature that blends looping electronics with memorable guitar leads to inundating effect. You can meanwhile catch him this Saturday (7/26) at Trans Pecos as part of 'Escape From New York', " one last big celebration megashow in the city" before Matt from Skeletons moves out of the city ("This is not necessarily "THE LAST" Skeletons show, but it will be the last show by Skeletons as a local act - and the last Skeletons show until sometime around a year from now, or even later..."). PC Worship, Zs, Hubble, Charlie Looker (now also of Psalm Zero who just opened for Black Anvil), and more are on the Todd P venue Queens bill. "The party will start in the afternoon, with BBQ and baby pools - and continue with DJs into the night." More details below.

Listen to streams from the bands playing Union Pool with the other stuff below, and head over to Invisible Oranges for more about them and the show.

A NOTE FROM THE LEAD SINGER of SKELETONS:

Hi Everyone. I'm moving out of New York City in early August.

I want to have one last big celebration megashow in the city, at our old spot the "Original Famous" 915 Wyckoff aka Trans Pecos fka Silent Barn fka Raven's Den fka the spot down the street from BILL'S CAFE.

This is not necessarily "THE LAST" Skeletons show, but it will be the last show by Skeletons as a local act - and the last Skeletons show until sometime around a year from now, or even later.... I'm not sure yet.

The party will start in the afternoon, with BBQ and baby pools - and continue with DJs into the night.

I'm sorry if you care I'm sorry if you don't.

WIth love,

-Matt / Skeletons

Metal bands named after LOTR references are ALWAYS good.

I usually don't like American metal, but MMmmm, this is some good stuff.
