The Melvins have a habit of constantly shifting their roster which, of course, makes them the Melvins. Their next iteration will occur on the forthcoming Hold it In, due out on October 14 through Ipecac Recordings. On that one, Buzz and Dale will be joined by a couple Butthole Surfers: guitarist Paul Leary and bassist JD Pinkus. To ring in the event, Buzz, Dale and JD (but not Paul) will outline America starting in October. There’s no NY date, but they’ll hit multiple California locales, a stop in Austin, Texas, an appearance at The Fest, and more. Full tour schedule below.

In related news, Buzz Osborne will be touring Australia and Europe in support of his acoustic record This Machine Kills Artists. Dale Crover will hop aboard OFF! during their jaunt in August. Fellow Butthole Surfer Gibby Haynes is set to be featured on Mastodon‘s Adult Swim single that will be released on September 8. And in sorta related, This Band Could Still Be Your Life news, the Meat Puppets — who have surely crossed paths with the aforementioned many a time — announced a tour, including two NYC dates on October 31 and November 1. Bob Mould also just added Cymbals Eat Guitars to his tour, and J Mascis is up to plenty of stuff too.

All of the dates along the Melvins covering the Butthole Surfers’ “Graveyard” last year for AV Undercover appears below.
