Ex Hex / Speedy Ortiz at BV-SXSW 2014 (more by Tim Griffin)
Ex Hex

Two great current indie rock bands, Speedy Ortiz (who owe a lot to the '90s) and Ex Hex (whose members were in some classic '90s bands), have shared bills before (like the BV SXSW day party this year and the Pitchfork Fest aftershow they play this month), and they'll do so again in the fall. We're not sure if it's a full tour or not, but about a month after both bands play Pygmalion Festival, they'll team up for a NYC show on November 2 at Mercury Lounge. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (7/11) at noon.

UPDATE: They also play another NYC show together on November 1 at Glasslands with Aye Nako. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (7/11) at 10 AM. More dates TBA?

Meanwhile, you can catch both bands for free in NYC this month. Speedy play 4Knots Festival on Saturday (7/12) with Dinosaur Jr, Mac DeMarco and more; and Ex Hex play MoMA Nights on July 17 (free with museum admission). All currently known dates for both bands are listed, with streams, below.

You can also catch Aye Nako in NYC Wednesday (7/9) at Silent Barn with Pony Bones (the current band of guitarist Matt Robidoux who is currently on hiatus from Speedy Ortiz with Grass Is Green's Devin McKnight taking his place) as well as Ovlov, Black Norse and Francis.

Not exactly free if you have to pay for admission to the museum.

Bet you can't wait to brag about your crappy post when you're lounging at the coffee shop in bedstuy tomorrow!

I don't live in Bedford–Stuyvesant. And while we're on the topic, I don't brag. I find 100% enjoyment out of correcting shitty grammar from people who post misogynistic, racist and homophobic comments. It's my silent, but not silent, way of protesting people who choose to think the web is a way of making vulgar and cowardly remarks. I mean, if they're going to do so, shouldn't they at least do so with proper grammar? Cute thought, however. Please do remember, Bed-Stuy and not bedstuy. K? K.

Guarantee if you looked up IP addresses, Max Horwich has also posted anonymously 3 other times in this thread. Would've been 4 had his mom not suddenly walked into his room forcing our Winner of the Day to quickly abandon his romantic diatribe.

The intro sounds A LOT like Sweet Jane by Lou Reed. Suspicious but nice anyway.
