Dalai Lama

Spend Samhain with Samhain and then cleanse your soul two days later when His Holiness himself The Dalai Lama will take over the Beacon Theater for two days (not everyone can be the Allman Brothers). The event description reads:

Tibet House US, a non-profit organization that aims to preserve and present the endangered Tibetan culture, will host a two-day teaching by His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama during his visit to New York City on November 3 and 4, 2014. Tickets range from $70-$330. The discourse will take place at the Beacon Theatre over two sessions each day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The teaching is on Profound Wisdom and Vast Compassion: Lama Tsong Khapa's Essence of True Eloquence.
Get em before they're gone.

He's also in Boston on Mischief Night, and in Vancouver a week before that.

fuck Tibet and fuck the Dalai Lama. Cold War nonsense and general political ignorance have for some reason created sympathy for these causes

Can I bring my phone in? If I can't snap a few pics to post to facebook and instagram then I don't really want to go...

Is he really "playing" the Beacon? Isn't there a better verb?

Posted by Anonymous | July 17, 2014 6:50 PM

6:06, agreed.

If he plays Fuego again, especially 2 nights in a row, I'm gonna be pissed.

Hopefully we get a nasty YEM and Fluffhead during the run.

6:46,

If you can't post to Facebook and Instagram, then it didn't happen. Ask yourself WWHD, and you'll find your answer.

Sounds like a Perfect Pussy album.

Fuck this shit. Dalai Lama turned his back on hardcore a long time ago. Now he wants to come back to NYC? He'll be lucky if DMS doesn't show up and run him out of town again.

Blah blah blah puerile irony. Blah blah blah ignorance. Blah blah blah dumb jokes.

Posted by Anonymous | July 18, 2014 9:29 AM

It always irritates me when BV uses "playing" as a verb in posts about standup comedy or, in this case, sitdown comedy.

You poor people.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama always offers fresh insight. Uplifting and light-hearted.
