Devil

Deep Purple released their 19th album last year, and this summer they'll be going on a tour in support of it that comes near NYC with NJ shows at Mayo PAC on 8/24 and Bergen PAC on 8/25, and a Long Island show on 8/26 at NYCB Theatre at Westbury. Tickets for the Bergen and Westbury shows are available here and tix for the Mayo show are available here. Those shows are just a few days before singer Ian Gillan and 3,000 amateur guitarists may or may not set a world record during their "Smoke on the Water" performance.

Deep Purple's not the only band in your dad's record collection with upcoming NYC-area shows this summer (or fall). Here's a list of a bunch more...

Tickets for the Aerosmith and Slash shows at Jones Beach (this week) and Prudential Center (in September) are on sale now.

Tickets for the KISS and Def Leppard show at Jones Beach (and other surrounding places) are on sale now.

Tickets for the Motley Crue and Alice Cooper shows at Jones Beach, PNC Bank Arts Center and MSG are on sale now.

Tickets for the ZZ Top and Jeff Beck show at Jones Beach are on sale now.

Rod Stewart and Santana are going on a tour together that hits Jones Beach on August 20. Tickets for that show are on sale now.

Creedence Clearwater Revival's John Fogerty has many tour dates coming up, including co-headlining shows with Jackson Browne on August 4 at PNC Bank Arts Center and August 5 at Jones Beach. John also plays Bethel Woods on August 8 and Atlantic City's Borgata on July 19. Tickets for those shows are on sale now.

Tickets for the Fleetwood Mac (Christine McVie included) 2-night stand at MSG and their Prudential Center show are still available.

Asia play BB King's on September 20. Tickets for that show are on sale now.

The Outlaws play BB King's on October 3. Tickets for that show are on sale now.

America play BB King's on October 17. Tickets for that show are on sale now.

Tickets for the final two shows in the Allman Brothers' final Beacon Theatre run have a few ongoing presales, and the general sale starts Friday (7/11) at 10 AM. The other four shows are sold out.

Crosby, Stills & Nash have two shows left in their Beacon Theatre run this week. There's still a few tickets left.

The Yes tour hits Radio City tonight (7/9) and Westbury on Saturday. You can still grab tickets.

Procol Harum (whose lineup still includes original singer Gary Brooker) play Manhattan Center Grand Ballroom on Friday (7/11) and The Space at Westbury on Saturday (7/12). Tickets for those shows are on sale now.

Former Procol Harum member Robin Trower brings his own tour to The Paramount on October 24 and BB King's on October 28. Tickets for those shows are on sale now too.

Three Dog Night play City Winery on August 10 & 11. Tickets for 8/10 and 8/11 are on sale now.

There's a few tickets left for the Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers and Steve Winwood show at MSG and more than a few (same link) for their PNC Bank Arts Center show.

Queen (with... Adam Lambert on vocals) will be at MSG next week.

This has to be the weirdest "tix on sale" of all time. I actually like it, that's funny, not depressing at all.
