terrible singer

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2014 3:41 PM

His hair is full and robust at 50 years old... And let it be known, I have inside information that he is a daily Hummus Eater.
So all you balding Brooklynites should take note and start mashing up them chickpeas.

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2014 3:43 PM

Coolio is 51

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2014 3:46 PM

According to a recent study:

Chickpeas are a very good source of protein, vitamin B6 and Zinc. Protein is needed for hair growth, and zinc and vitamin A work together to prevent dandruff and hair loss. Chickpeas are also rich in Phyto-Nutrients which have multiple hair health benefits.

Troll Bait!
Don't fall for it!

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2014 3:49 PM

Thanks for the tip 3:49!
Who knew that the Phyto-Nutrients locked within the chickpea were also good for hair growth?
I only thought that they were good for giving energy for doing rock and roll dance moves such as the hip thrust.

He seems like a cool guy, I hope he has a happy birthday

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2014 4:03 PM

BV, you're just trolling us now, right?

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2014 4:05 PM

Great post, BV!

Maybe now that Duritz is 50, he'll take off the fake dreads. I know it's his thing, but christ, what an embarrassing and dated look.

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2014 4:07 PM

What a faggot

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2014 4:15 PM

This post is just a reminder that the shitty Real Estate/Diiv/Mac Demarco/Pure X bands that you shits listen will have no staying power when compared to elder statesmen of mediocrity such as the Counting Crows.

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2014 4:18 PM

LOL at 4:18

But for real. Mr. Jones was a great song for its time. And Long December was pretty sweet too.

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2014 4:41 PM

Lol he wanted to be a big big star lol

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2014 4:42 PM

this desert life is a good record.

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2014 4:43 PM

Recovering the Satellites is a fucking great album. Anyone who says otherwise is just plain wrong and probably listens to really shitty music.

That said, AARP is for retired people, over the age of 65. He has another 15 years before he is AARP age, and he is also not retired.

Posted by The Mighty KC | August 4, 2014 4:51 PM

Unlike you post city boyz, this man knows his way around some sweet sweet pooontang. You're whacking it to Annie St. Vincent. She doesn't want your post city bad cum vibes.

Posted by Mr. Foot Fetish | August 4, 2014 4:54 PM

Oh shut up, FF.

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2014 4:55 PM

Posted by big dick johnson | August 4, 2014 5:58 PM

First three albums are very solid.

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2014 6:04 PM

there is no way to underestimate how much this guy and his band sucks

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2014 6:59 PM

Great lyricist. If he was black & threw the N word around he would be proclaimed 10x the genius that Jay Z is purported to be.

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2014 7:30 PM

I want to see Michael Gira on the cover of AARP.

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2014 7:32 PM

Well, apparently 4:54 likes post city cum. Interesting, nice.

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2014 7:39 PM

Most of AARP readership is 75+

How are they supposed to know who Adam Duritz is? Doesn't the AARP know their own readership?

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2014 7:46 PM

And Adam begins to die his hair

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2014 10:51 PM

I love how Teenage Fanclub get a pass for being disheveled Scottish dudes that rip off Big Star, yet somehow Counting Crows have universally been deemed lame, dispite being disheveled American dudes that rip off Big Star. Just goes to show how far a cool accent will take you.

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2014 11:15 PM

More dopey hummus jokes. Give it up moron.
Counting Crows & Teenage Fanclub both suck big time. CC just suck a little more!

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2014 12:58 AM

441 Mr. Jones is one of those songs that makes leave a bar if they play crap like that.

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2014 3:45 AM

11:15, the difference is Shrek. That's kinda what killed the Crows. Also, they're following has a strong bro contingent that makes them fall into the "lame" category.

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2014 7:37 AM

8:45 - in a row?

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2014 8:55 AM

I've never once thought of the Counting Crows as ripping off Big Star. They sound nothing alike, unless you're really really reaching. CC are just straight adult contemporary/90s bro rock. That said, I do enjoy the first record.

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2014 9:30 AM

Yeah, where the hell is the Big Star influence? I'm not a Teenage Fanclub fan either, but they explicitly sound like Big Star, and I get that.

Counting Crows just suck.

And 8:55: Yes, in one sitting.

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2014 10:29 AM

When I go to a bar with a jukebox I like to do what I call 'puttin on duritz' and I play like 10 counting crows songs in a row ('round here, hangin' around, omaha, rain king, mr. jones, and some other random tunes), a nice bonus is that it clears out undesirables from the bar

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2014 11:04 AM

1104 just the fact that you can even name those songs makes you sound like a dope.

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2014 11:48 AM

He still gets bonus points for "Puttin' on Duritz."

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2014 11:49 AM

Great post Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2014 11:04 AM.

Posted by Mr. Foot Fetish | August 5, 2014 12:04 PM

BV... you know you posted this just to stir up the comments.

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2014 12:44 PM

It's nice to see posts like this every once in awhile just to see how many people with indefensibly shitty music tastes reads this blog.

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2014 1:01 PM
