Maybe it's the latitude, but Swedish bands seem to excel at making music that is either bright and poppy or very dark. Gothenberg's School (not to be confused with The School or any other similarly named bands) do a good job, though, of being somewhere in between, with ringing guitars racing alongside moody basslines and Alice Botéus strong vocals at the helm. A prime example of this is the band's very likable single "SoLong" which just got the music video treatment courtesy director Niklas Carlborg.
