NYC-based twee pop/anti-folk-inspired singer/songwriter Frankie Cosmos (aka Greta Kline) recently returned home from tour and last night (8/14) she graced her hometown with an early evening, outdoor show at MoMA, part of their ongoing MoMA Nights series. We're used to seeing her in DIY NYC venues like Shea Stadium and Silent Barn, so this was a special show, seeing Greta and her band -- Porches. frontman Aaron Maine, his brother David, and Eskimeaux (aka Gabby Smith) -- in MoMA's gorgeous courtyard. (It was also a far cry from the frat she played at University of Chicago on tour.) In the audience, her father Kevin Kline could be spotted, as could fellow actor Mary Steenburgen (who tweeted her review, as you can see above). Did you go? What did you think?

Yes, the children of wealthy talented people are precluded from having talent themselves, and should be disregarded forthwith. It's science.

Yes, it's "talent" she has.

Ooooo, smells like someone got permission from her celebrity parents to use their press team. But shes so quirky and unique, she earned it, right?

Jesus! What is the average age in that band? 12? Also- what's up with that dude all slouched down in some sort of upper-body chair? That can't be good for your neck and/or back?

I went. She has a nice voice and it was enjoyable, but I got a bit bored and left after 4-5 songs. The songs are fine, but nothing remarkable or astounding. Pleasant place to see a show, for sure.

None of the kids in this band are rich. Fact.

Birthday Song is the only semi-memorable song on that record and it's a little too emo for my tastes. I'm all about being twee as fuck, but you know, back to the drawing board.

I did see her at Shea Stadium. She's one of those people where it's like, you don't want to make fun of her because she seems kind've a fragile soul. But you can't keep it going forever because the music just isn't there. Then again there's always the next record.

"None of the kids in this band are rich. Fact."

I'd love to hear you explain how Kevin Kline's daughter isn't rich. Seriously, try.

Children of rich and famous people are nauseating. Shame on moma and this blog for providing such unneeded attention for them. Ick!

It all makes sense now.

I saw "Frankie Cosmos" a few months ago as an opener and I was kind of laughing about how bad their set was. Then I see all this coverage on various sponsored music sites, and now I know why.

Be ashamed of yourself BV for perpetuating this.
