Jawbreaker already reissued Bivouac (+ the Chesterfield King EP) in 2012 for its 20th anniversary, and now they'll be doing the same for 1994's classic Steve Albini-produced 24 Hour Revenge Therapy, as Property of Zack points out. The album comes with alternative takes of four of the LP's tracks, plus two outtakes, "First Step" and "Friends Back East" (which both also appeared on 2002's Etc. compilation). It will be out on October 14 via Blackball Records and can be pre-ordered at Music Direct. Music Direct also mentions that a full-length documentary on the band is in the works. Tracklist and some classic 24 Hour Revenge Therapy streams below. Also below is a funny and entertaining video of a 1994 interview Jawbreaker did on Public Access TV show Sideshow, the show run by Stefanie Reines (interviewer) and her brother Richard (cameraman), who two years later founded Drive-Thru Records together.

In related news, Jawbreaker drummer Adam Pfahler recently formed the band California, which is fronted by Green Day's touring guitarist Jason White, and features Dustin Clark (The Insides) on bass. (Meanwhile, Green Day's singer is currently The Replacements' touring guitarist.) The band have been working on their debut record, and while there's no music from that out yet, you can watch a live video of them playing "Woodson Lateral.: It's not the highest quality video, but it does sound promising. Check it out below.

Fuck this silly shit. I'll buy this if/when they do a reunion. I've already had and bought all the re-releases they've had so far, the least they can do is put their bitchy differences aside, or Blake to stop acting like a primadonna and play for your fans that have already put their hard-earned dollars down to buy your shit.

Seriously, fuck them.

there will never be a reunion. so glad I was able to see them when I was younger. still can't believe they played the basement of abc.

Blake has 0 interest in Jawbreaker. Pretty sure the drummer is the only one involved in this stuff anymore.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2014 3:19 PM

3:19 - I know Blake has no interest, but if they're putting this out, and, they obviously expect to make a profit (it's not free) they can play a show as a thank-you. I really hate bands that re-release or put out new albums and don't tour or play one or a few shows as a tribute to their fans.

I'm still bitter about Dag Nasty.

Blake doesn't even seem to be interested in forgetters anymore. They have played ONE show in the past 15 months and they finally update their website saying that Blake supports Palestine? What the fuck? I don't care who he supports. Put out some music.

I agree. Don't put out stuff that you expect your fans to buy if you can't play a show.

We support you, you should support us.

Blake's a weird, weird dude.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2014 4:20 PM

I'm still bitter I never went to the Jaxbox/Jawbreaker show at Irving Plaza in the 90's.

^ get a life, assholes. and some taste in music while you're at it.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2014 9:32 PM

Yeah, guys, you should listen to more chill wave.

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2014 10:01 PM

All of you hilariously entitled assholes seem to have failed to realize that, when you buy a re-mastered (or whatever) album, THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE FUCKING PAYING FOR. It doesn't entitle you to a fucking show, a blowjob, or season tickets to anyone else's hard work/money invested.

HILARIOUS ignorance. You're the same kind of people who believe that "liking" shit on Facebook is equivalent to being a "huge fan" and "dedicated to the band". Get real, poseurs.

If you actually believe that music is a "promotional tool" for live shows, then you're 100% the fucking problem.

Now I'm off to meet 10:01 at a Chillwave party. Fuck the rest of you morons.

Also the streaming services like spotify and rdio don't have license to play old jawbreaker. This circumvents those rights so now their music can be streamed..

10:52 is going to visit his 10 yr HS reunion in Scottsdale next month and he's pretty excited to tell everyone about his Jr. manger visual position at Whole Foods they're promoting him in 6th months. You go bro, kill em!

Posted by Anonymous | August 15, 2014 11:22 PM

They should only re-release this if it's a promotional tool for live shows. Otherwise true fans really hate them. I feel like they're not punk and I'm telling everyone.

Get bent

Posted by blayne | August 15, 2014 11:52 PM

10:52 is 21 and still gets checks from mommy/daddy

LOL at fools talking about Blake Schwarzenbach like they know him and his motivations. Prolly just too dumb to know how to spell "Schwarzenbach" LOL. Even D knows how to spell it.

Posted by Anonymous | August 16, 2014 12:04 PM

Seriously, get bent

Posted by blayne | August 16, 2014 10:32 PM

These guys were once great and should not rip off their fans!

Posted by Anonymous | August 17, 2014 3:41 AM

Get Bent was an awesome band.

Posted by Anonymous | August 17, 2014 7:13 PM

What up nerds?

Posted by Anonymous | August 17, 2014 8:52 PM

it is the one full length of theirs not available on is about time it is, as its their best record. stop bitching. they would be terrible now that is. Saw them once with fluf at troc in philly...good show...not great. i do not see a windfall of cash being made of an lp that will cost 15 bucks retail.

Posted by nick | August 25, 2014 10:18 AM

This is a re-issue, I have an old 24hr on vinyl and don't think it is that rare. PS I was at that ABC no rio show too, one of the best shows!

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2014 2:32 PM

Bands re-issue LP's all the time, not every repress deserves a follow up tour! Don't think I'd want to see them now either. Take a look at your favorite bands on discogs and see how often your favorite band re-pressed an album without touring. Some fuzzy logic on here.

I've been holding a grudge against the Reines for waking up one day and walking away from Drive-Thru. Watching Stefanie interview Jawbreaker made my day and made me realize that no one owes me a Jawbreaker tour or Drive-Thru record. Thanks for all of the memories, and thanks for posting this.
