John Fogerty @ Jones Beach - 8/5/14
John Fogerty

Creedence Clearwater Revival's John Fogerty is on a tour this year which already included three NYC-area dates and includes one more this Friday (8/8) in Atlantic City (tickets). Two of those, Monday (8/4) at PNC Bank Arts Center and Tuesday (8/5) at Jones Beach, were co-headlining shows with Jackson Browne. We caught the Jones Beach one which included a ton of Creedence favorites -- "Have You Ever Seen The Rain," "Who'll Stop The Rain," "Down on the Corner," "Up Around the Bend," "Fortunate Son," "Bad Moon Rising," etc -- and Jackson Browne coming out during Fogerty's set. Pictures of that show are in this post.

If you want to catch Jackson Browne in NYC (proper) again, he'll be back on October 7 at Beacon Theatre. Tickets for that show go on Chase and local presales (password: BROWNE) today (8/7) at 10 AM, with a general on-sale starting Friday (8/8) at 10 AM.

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2014 11:21 AM

lol @ him wearing the same shirt, I guess?

some folks are born, made to wear one shirt, oo, don't they keep getting rich, ya'll

Posted by anonymous | August 7, 2014 11:59 AM

that's Kenny Aronoff on drums. He's a legend.

Posted by benji | August 7, 2014 12:25 PM

^lol, a 'legend' that 99.99% of the population has never heard of. You should cover hardcore reunions for BV.

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2014 12:33 PM

Kenny is actually a major session player, and plays for a lot of big events. He's in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame house band, the band for the Kennedy Center Honors, and has recorded with a ton of people, so why dont you keep being a dumb fuck, 12:33?

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2014 12:45 PM

John is performing in Bethel Woods on Friday 8/8, not Atlantic City, NJ as featured in your article.

Posted by Matt | August 7, 2014 12:46 PM

12:45 yes, he is practically a household name. A real legend. Do you wear Zildjian t-shirts?

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2014 12:50 PM

Kenny is a symbol to all musicians. He would snare many awards. What do you bass your comments on? Tri-angles that are different to yours. Have some tympani once and awhile. Kenny can stick with the best of them. He cant be beat!

^that nigga was in Chickenfoot. BITE YOUR TONGUE!

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2014 12:54 PM

"Kenny Aronoff (born March 7, 1953) is an American rock drummer. He has played drums for many musicians, including John Mellencamp, Bob Seger, Belinda Carlisle, Elton John, John Fogerty, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Meat Loaf, The BoDeans, Gregg Alexander, The Smashing Pumpkins, Chickenfoot, Tony Iommi, Jon Bon Jovi, Vasco Rossi, Cinderella, Stryper, and Styx."

Legend?

He should be prosecuted for crimes against art.

Session players typically arent househould names, so what's your fucking point? He's not on par with the Stax or Motown session players, but there's a lot of the names from that world that you wouldnt know from a hole in the wall. That doesnt diminish their accomplishments. He's still a terrific drummer and quite the live presence.

^Like Andrew Sacher, it would behoove you to be a little more discriminating with your use of the word 'legend'.

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2014 3:52 PM

Hey guys will you consider donating to my kickstarter, the goal is to raise $280 so my band, The Fogerties, can get sweet flannels to wear while we play
