Mouthpiece at Revelation 25 (more by Rebecca Reed)
Mouthpiece
Lifetime

Lifetime recently announced that they're playing a BrooklynVegan-presented show at The Stone Pony on October 11 in their home state of NJ before heading to Florida for The Fest. We're now excited to announced that the openers for the show will be a reunion set from the short-lived early '90s NJ hardcore band Mouthpiece (who's reunited before), Philly emo/punks Spraynard (who recently ended a short hiatus) and Buffalo indie punks Lemuria. Tickets for the show are still available.

Spraynard also recently announced a tour with The Menzingers, who Lemuria toured with this past spring.

Videos of all three openers below...

---

Mouthpiece live 6/24/95 in Chatham, NJ

Spraynard live 4/18/11

Lemuria live 2/15/14

That Mouthpiece show in Chatham was pretty fun. Texas is the Reason's first show too.

Was hoping for Sticks And Stones but Mouthpiece is just as awesome

I see alot of my friends during Mouthpiece's "what remains" bass-line intro. Such a fun time to be into hardcore in the mid 90's.

Dont get the big deal about Spraynard. Didn't get why people gave a shit when they broke up, didn't get why their 'reunion' show like 8 months later sold out. Dont hate em, they just seem like a perennial opener. Lemuria is great though.

That's not Mothpiece's bass-line intro, it's Chain of Strength's :)

shitty pop punk

NJ has always been a shithole

Posted by Anonymous | August 25, 2014 10:45 AM

10:32 is clueless.

10:28 - yeah, Sticks & Stones would of been so nice, think they're playing BK on Tuesday.

Such an amazing, underrated band.

NJ is significantly better then Long Island.

Posted by Anonymous | August 25, 2014 10:52 AM

Lifetime is just Saves the Day for the mid-30s set. Not an important band at all.

And please, 10:52. Long Island might blow, but Jersey is in a class of it's own.

Why would they have to be important? You're taking it too seriously, guy. Or do you only listen to "important" music and are thus, a real laugh at parties.

Newark.

Posted by Anonymous | August 25, 2014 11:49 AM

Long Island looks like a giant turd.

@ 10:28 and 10:50

Sticks and Stones are playing Brooklyn on tuesday, but it is an acoustic set and that kind of defeats the purpose of them playing.

10:58 thinks saves the day are pop-punk kings

Posted by Anonymous | August 25, 2014 2:43 PM

10:58 is turning 21 next week.

Woooooo!

Oh wow, an actual NJHC band (Mouthpiece) playing a show with Lifetime who has hated and wanted nothing to do with NJHC for the past two decades. New Age Records reunion LOL.

Mike Hartsfield are you still taking orders and not filling them? Theif.

Lifetime are you still trying to be the next Fall Out Boy? Sellouts.

Hey Mouthpiece you too good to play a small club or hall in NJ?

Every time you get back together it's for some anniversary or sizeable band - fuck off.

What did Lifetime have to do with you guys 1993-94 on? They hated your straightedge scene.

Below is what these assholes Lifetime wrote on their Facebook about NJHC 1992 they could care less about save to look cool in 2014. Notice Mouthpiece have zero self-respect because they're playing second out of four when they should be playing next to last right before Lifetime.

"What's up punks? For our show at the Stone Pony on October 11th, we've decided to mix things up a little. It's going to combine the privilege of sharing the stage with current bands that we're into, and the total time machine two-step of bringing it back(wards) to NJHC 1992. We know you'll be as stoked as we are!

LIFETIME
LEMURIA
MOUTHPIECE
SPRAYNARD"

It's so weird that that entire early '90s/New Age Records hardcore scene is completely gone if you don't count Lifetime and Mouthpiece (I don't cuz they're not really together anymore save for occasional reunions.)
