Robyn & Royksopp on Ppier 97 - 8/20/14
Dance-pop emissaries Robyn and Royksopp kicked off a new North American run of their tour in NYC to a sold-out crowd on Pier 97 last night (8/20). The two acts have been on the road intermittently this year in support of their collaborative mini-LP. Following an opening set from Robyn's fellow Swede Zhala (who's signed to her label), Royksopp played a full-band set with guest vocals from Zhala, and then Robyn played her set, getting the biggest cheers of the nights for her hits "Call Your Girlfriend" and "Dancing On My Own." Then Robyn and Royksopp closed things out together with their collaborative set, which included material from their mini-LP and an encore of "None of Dem" (from Robyn's Body Talk LP), which features Royksopp. Pictures of the show, including one of the setlist, are in this post.
You can get your Robyn on in NYC again with the 'This Party Is Killing You' party, "a night of all Robyn everything," happening at Glasslands on September 26. Tickets for that are on sale now.
