Ty Segall

Ty Segall's new album, Manipulator, is out next week via Drag City but you can listen to it now via NPR. It is an understatement to say that Ty is prolific and with that some of his past releases aren't entirely essential though there are always more that a few great songs on each one. Manipulator, however -- a 17-track double album no less -- is pretty much all hits. It's got his best songs yet, featuring inventive arrangements, ripping performances and just the right amount of studio polish. Manipulator's not just a great garage album, it's one of the year's best records, period.

Look for Ty Segall on tour this fall, playing two nights at NYC's Webster Hall on September 17 & 18, the latter date being with La Luz. Tickets for both shows are still available.

It's not terrible...but "sensational" is pushing it.

Granted i listened to a crappy stream, but there wasn't a single song that made me go "wow, that's awesome."

Unlike that grimes song that's #1 song of this generation...i'm kidding.

Ty Segall is fucking talentless, a semi-competent mimic devoid of soul or actual purpose. Better he go to law school and became an activist lawyer attorney instead.
