The Blood Brothers @ FYF Fest 2014 (via @suprefan)
But as far as the best rock band of the weekend, they popped up about a half hour later. The Blood Brothers' reunion show--their first gig since 2007--managed to draw an impressive crowd opposite Haim, who worked the hometown advantage. And rubberneckers had about the same reaction that Blood Brothers inspired in their heydey: What the fuck is this? The band was just as vicious and inscrutable as they were a decade previous. So while FYF was mostly the sound of what "indie rock" thinks people want, this is what it needs. [Pitchfork]Post-hardcore greats The Blood Brothers continued their 2014 reunion at this past weekend's FYF Fest in LA (after a Seattle show right beforehand) with a 16-song set mostly split between their latter three albums, ...Burn Piano Island, Burn, Crimes and Young Machetes. Unfortunately we weren't able to get any pictures of them (pics of other bands at FYF coming soon though), but we've got some videos of their set which you can watch below.
Blood Brothers' reunion dates continue with two NYC appearances in October, including the Modern Sky Festival in Central Park and a BrooklynVegan-presented club date at Warsaw on October 5 (tickets). After that, they'll hit Fun Fun Fun Fest.
