United Nations @ Saint Vitus 8/2/2014
United Nations

The Geoff Rickley-fronted screamo/powerviolence supergroup United Nations played a sold-out show at Saint Vitus on Saturday (8/2), and we've got pictures of the show in this post. They were joined by Florida post-hardcore crew and current tourmates Frameworks, and Brooklyn-based heavy post-hardcore bands Descender and the death-ier Primitive Weapons. The packed house at Vitus got pretty rowdy, with some mosh pit and crowd surfing action punctuating the sets. United Nations played a bunch of stuff from their recent Temporary Residence-released full-length The Next Four Years and closed the set with fan favorite "United Nations vs. United Nations," about that time they got sued by the non-musical United Nations. UN member Jonah Bayer's sister Vanessa Bayer, who you might recognize from SNL, introduced the headliners, or should we say ROASTED the headliners (watch the video below).

United Nations and Frameworks are now on a tour across the country, but they return to the NY-area for a show at Asbury Lanes in Asbury Park on 8/17. Bottomfeeder is also on that bill.

Check out more pictures from all four sets in Brooklyn, as well as setlists for everyone but Frameworks, and the Vanessa Bayer roast video, below...

^^ Yeah, that's what I was thinking. What an insult to UN, they actually know how to write songs.

How is this a 'supergroup' ?

I'm with 5:27 too.

Re: super group...at various points, the project has involved members of converge, texas is the reason, made out of babies, and the frontmen of glassjaw and thursday. Not sure that's a supergroup, but an interesting pedigree aggressive emo/hardcore if you care about that sort of thing or are fans of any of those bands.

need to get this record...

pure dog shit.

Not buying it. You dont go from fronting a Warped Tour emo band to suddenly being a punk. Dude can't even scream - he has to use a fucking vocoder.
