You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Cymbals Eat Guitars, Bueno, Grooms, Ache @ 5050 Skate Park
Cymbals Eat Guitars’ new album is out now, and it packs a real punch of passionate indie rock. The Staten Island band are playing several NYC shows in support of it, this being the one happening in their home borough.

Falls of Rauros, Obsidian Tongue, Oneirogen @ Union Pool (IO Presents)
Our metal site Invisible Oranges is presenting this killer show with black metal/folk blenders Falls of Rauros, more black metal from Obsidian Tongue, and one-man metal wiz Oneirogen.

Dirty Fences, Hector’s Pets, Dinos Boys, The Johnny’s @ Death by Audio
Atlanta’s sneary Dino Boys headline this night of garage punk, that also includes worthy local acts Dirty Fences and Hector’s Pets.

John Cameron Mitchell @ The Bell House
WNYC’s “Ask Me Another” is a live radio taping that combines “brainteasers and local pub trivia night with comedy and music.” Tonight’s special guest is Hedwig creator John Cameron Mitchell.

Porches, Juan Wauters @ CMJ Artist Announcement Party
The first round of artists for CMJ gets announced tonight, and to go along with that there will be live music from local indie rock musicians Porches and Juan Wauters.

Bluffing, Legs Like Tree Trunks, ONWE, Fern Mayo @ Trans Pecos
There’s some cool bands on this bill including indie popsters Bluffing, and tumblr-irony-pop guy ONWE.

Zs, VHVL, Yvette, White Reaper, Ricky Eat Acid @ Palisades
If you like it weird and noisy, head to Palisades where you can see the sax-fueled Zs, the intense Yvette, the garage rocking White Reaper and more.

Thumpers, Sun Club @ Mercury Lounge
If big, synthy festival indie pop like CHVRCHES is your kinda thing, you may dig recent Sub Pop signees Thumpers too.

The Big Terrific Comedy Show @ Cameo Gallery
Max Silvestri hosts the free weekly comedy show in the back of Williamsburg’s Lovin’ Cup. No word on who’s performing tonight, but Max usually lets us know via his Twitter.
