At the Gates release teaser of new album (listen)

When metalcore spent the early ’00s desecrating the grave of melodeathers At the Gates, many wondered what the O.G.s would sound like if they came back. Now we know. The first teaser of the forthcoming At the Gates album At War With Reality, which will be released 19 years after the iconic Slaughter of the Soul, hit the web today. And, satisfyingly, it sounds like At the Gates. The Björler brothers and Martin Larsson have that same crunch. Tomas “Tompa” Lindberg has that same throat-searing yell. Adrian Erlandsson has that same rock-solid sense of rhythm. The only thing keeping it from making diehards’ heads explode would be a “GO!” You can check out the sample below.
At War With Reality will be out on October 28 through Century Media records. It’s available for preorder now (check out that sweet package deal with a. . . flag? Okay). The band has a number of dates on the horizon, extending far in 2015, however no North America events on the schedule yet. They were last on US soil this year for Maryland Deathfest.
