Crowbar

NOLA sludge metal masters Crowbar are in the middle of a month-long run following the release of their 10th full-length, Symmetry In Black. The tour is with an all-around well-matched lineup of Revocation, Havok, Fit For An Autopsy and Armed For Apocalypse, and it stopped at NYC’s Gramercy Theater on September 14. Pictures of all five bands are in this post.

Crowbar are also featured in a new Noisey documentary called NOLA: Life, Death and Heavy Blues from the Bayou that takes a look at the origins of the New Orleans metal scene. Along with members of Crowbar, the film features members of DOWN, Pantera, Eyehategod, Corrosion of Conformity, Goatwhore, Acid Bath and more. The description reads, “From the crawfish-littered tables of the secluded Anselmo compound to a fishing boat with Eyehategod in the swamps, we’ll discuss the bands, Hurricane Katrina, drugs, suicide, murder, and records that helped shape the New Orleans sound known the world over.”

The first episode of the documentary is out now. You can watch it, with more pictures from Crowbar’s Gramercy show, below…
