It's NY Fashion Week: Jarvis Cocker, Banks, Kiesza, Lady Gaga & more playing parties (Banks also plays Rough Trade)

Fashion Week

Though the more pedestrian “Fashion’s Night Out” ended in NYC in 2012, the more high brow New York Fashion Week continues year after year and is back upon us once more. As always, that means lots of parties we can’t get into, with performances by some of our most loved and hated musical artists. This year, as PAPER lists out in a handy guide, includes shows by Kiesza (tonight at a party co-hosted by Sophia Lamar, The Misshapes, Mike Nouveau and more — -flyer above), Jarvis Cocker (tonight as part of a big extravaganza in Madison Square Park with Sofia Coppola, Angela McCluskey, Kalup Linzy and more — see flyer above and HERE), Banks (tonight and tomorrow), Maluca (tomorrow), Pharrell (maybe?), secret guests and more. Unfortunately almost everything is invite only, but where there’s a will, there’s a way?

Banksupcoming show at Terminal 5 is also going to be hard to get into (sold out), but you can try to get in to the much-more-public-and-practically-free Banks in-store at Rough Trade in Brooklyn on 9/9.

Tickets are still on sale for the fun, annual Fashion Week-timed event Bushwig at Secret Project Robot in Brooklyn this weekend. Lots of DJs, wigs, drag performers, wigs, and more wigs.

Speaking of, Lady Gaga will make an appearance this week at the The Plaza Hotel for Bazaar, and it will be a “jazz performance”.

Spike Jonze and Jonah Hill are also in on the fun. They “have teamed to produce and write a one-act play for the fall New York Fashion Week presentation of Opening Ceremony’s Spring 2015 line.”

What else is happening? Leave tips in the comments.
