Lower Plenty (mem Total Control) releasing an LP on Mexican Summer (stream it), playing Baby's tonight; WIFE play after

We already mentioned that Skygreen Leopards and J Fernandez have new material and tours hitting NYC’s Baby’s All Right pretty much as we speak, but what we didn’t mention is so do Australia’s Lower Plenty who are also on tonight’s bill. They share members with Total Control, UV Race and Deaf Wish (who also have North American dates coming up) and make kinda-psychedelic folk on their new album, Life/Thrills, which comes out next week (9/23) via Mexican Summer. After that show, Baby’s hosts a Junglepussy show (tix also at door), and THEN hosts a third show with WIFE at 11 PM. WIFE is the Tri Angle-signed electronic project of James Kelly, guitarist/vocalist of the now-defunct metal band Altar of Plagues. It’s a last-minute one-off while he’s in NYC after the two Bear In Heaven shows he opened this week (pictures of MHOW coming soon) and is FREE.
