LA psych rockers Mr. Elevator & the Brain Hotel caught my attention when they were last in NYC opening for Thee Oh Sees at Death by Audio in June. They play a brand of 1967-style organ-driven psych rock that hearkens back to bands like Strawberry Alarm Clock, The Doors, etc. They’re currently back out on the road with fellow California bands Froth, Wyatt Blair and Corners, and that tour brings them back to Death by Audio on September 25.
