Orlando duo SALES has shared bills with both electronic art pop band Hundred Waters and lo-fi DIY songwriter Alex G, and though those are pretty different artists to play with, SALES’ sound actually falls right in the middle of the two. Lauren Morgan’s voice and the writing style are twee-ish indie pop but guitarist/programmer Jordan Shih’s production gives it an electronic side that someone like say, Frankie Cosmos, doesn’t have. Their self-titled EP is out now and includes a remix of one of the tracks by XXYYXX. You can stream it in full below.

SALES have two dates coming up at the moment, one in their hometown, and one in NYC on Wednesday (9/24) at Baby’s All Right with well-matched artists for the two sides of SALES’ sound, the synthy Salt Cathedral and the DIY songwriter Mitski. Can You Not? is DJing. Tickets for that show are on sale now.

Mitski’s new album, bury me at makeout creek, comes out November 11 via Double Double Whammy and she recently put out the new single, “Townie,” which is way more of a rocker than her last single. Salt Cathedral recently self-released their Oom Velt EP. Stream the track “Holy Soul” below.
