Self Defense Family releasing 'Duets' EP (new track stream), touring with Restorations

Self Defense Family have to be the most prolific bands in post-hardcore lately. They already put out a new full length, Try Me (on Deathwish), and multiple EPs this year, and they’ve got another EP, Duets, coming on September 30 via Iron Pier (pre-order). True to its title, it’s an EP of duets between SDF vocalist Patrick Kindlon and frequent collaborator Caroline Corrigan. Though for its newest single, “Cancel Man,” it’s actually the one song on the EP with just Caroline singing, and the twang of her voice gives the song more of an alt-country feel than Patrick’s rougher voice tends to give Self Defense Family. The new song premieres in this post and can be streamed below.
Self Defense Family are supporting the first leg of the recently-announced Restorations tour and also playing The Fest. They aren’t on the NYC date of the Restorations tour, but they are on the Asbury Park stop happening October 24 at Asbury Lanes. Tickets for that show are on sale now.
