You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Laurie Anderson, Kronos Quartet @ BAM
Part of Nonesuch Records at BAM, legendary boundary pusher Anderson teams with the Kronos Quartet for what is sure to be a special evening.

Tweedy, Jeff Tweedy @ BAM
Also part of the Nonesuch celebration, Jeff Tweedy plays twice at this show: a solo set and with Tweedy, the band he has with his son 18-year old son Spencer.

Sondre Lerche, TEEN @ Bowery Ballroom
Sondre Lerche’s ambitious new album, Please, finds him dealing with divorce but still managing to find a hummable tunes amidst all the raw nerves and bare emotions. The LP’s out today and this is the record release show.

Hag Face, Clean Girls, Dog @ Death by Audio
Canada’s Crosss unfortunately had to cancel tonight, but you can still a taste of the Great White North via Calgary garage punks Hag Face.

Christopher Owens, Liam Hayes @ Highline Ballroom
Former Girls frontman Christopher Owens will release his second solo album, A New Testament, next week (9/30) which dabbles in country and gospel. The songs sounded great at SXSW this year, and you can still get tickets to tonight’s show.

Panda Bear, Blues Control @ Irving Plaza
While there’s still no firm date on Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper, you’ll probably get a few (or more than a few) songs from the Animal Collective member’s new album at this show tonight.

Yacht, White Fang @ Mercury Lounge
Having just signed to Downtown records, Portland dance duo Yacht will be trying out new material on this tour, plus old favorites too. This is their final of three NYC shows with White Fang. Tickets are still available.

Nada Surf, Elliot Moss @ Rough Trade
Nada Surf are about to start work in Brooklyn on their new album, but will tide fans over with a new B Sides album. You may get to hear a few of those rarities tonight. Sold out.

Lily Allen, Lolawolf @ Terminal 5
While her new album, Sheezus, is maybe not the full return-to-form we were hoping for from Lily Allen, she’s still a lot of fun live. Unpredictable too. This is her first of two T5 shows this week. Tonight is sold out but you can still get into Wednesday’s show.

Iasos, Laraaji, Dave Harrington, Prince Rama (DJ Set) @ Baby’s All Right
Come celebrate the Autumnal Equinox tonight with New Age pioneer Iasos, Darkside’s Dave Harrington and more. Expect to hear the word “vibes” a lot. Baby’s will have a special menu too.

Ask Me Another w/ Lewis Black @ The Bell House
Another in NPR’s “Ask Me Another” live quiz show tapings, tonight features veteran crank and Daily Show contributor Lewis Black.

Mount Eerie, Mecca Normal, Eartheater @ Trans-Pecos
Phil Elverum is a prolific artist and though his Mount Eerie project didn’t release a record in 2014, he released three during the two previous and has a double album, Sauna, due out early next year. Get a preview of the new stuff tonight. Mount Eerie also play Le Poisson Rouge on Wednesday.

The Black Keys, Cage the Elephant @ Barclays Center
The country’s most popular blues garage rock duo headlines Barclays tonight.

Shovels and Rope, John Fullbright @Music Hall of Williamsburg
All the way from Johns Island, SC,  indie country duo Shovels and Rope just released Swimmin’ Time.  This is their second of two sold out NYC shows this week.
