John Zorn, Marc Ribot, Wesley Stace, Cibo Matto, Satomi of Deerhoof and more will be participating in concerts happening in NYC this weekend to benefit and raise awareness for artists rights organization Content Creators Coalition. Specifically, here’s what they are standing up for:

Ad-based piracy is a direct attack on the livelihoods and art forms of today’s content creators. And the major tech players who sell ads to these websites make large-scale piracy possible. Artists have always been the ultimate free speech activists. That’s why we’re asking Google and other large tech corporations to stand with us and stop brokering ads to piracy sites. It’s not about censorship. It’s about making sure current and future generations of artists can continue to create.

The first benefit happens on Saturday (10/18) at Roulette in Brooklyn and features John Zorn, Eric Slick (Dr Dog), Steve Coleman, Marc Ribot, Matana Roberts, Henry Grimes, Marina Rosenfeld, Brandon Seabrook, Satomi of Deerhoof, and more. Tickets are on sale.

Then on Sunday afternoon (10/19) at Le Poisson Rouge there’s a rally featuring Rosanne Cash, Yuka Honda and Miho Hatori of Cibo Matto, Wesley Stace, Marc Ribot, Marcus Rojas’ Brass ensemble, Ava Mendoza and more TBA. That starts at 2 PM and is free.
