Pharrell Williams collaborated with Daft Punk again on “Gust of Wind,” a gorgeously produced, string-laden disco track from this year’s G.I.R.L. which could’ve just as easily fit in on the French Duo’s hit 2013 album. The video for the song was directed by the very talented Edgar Wright of Shaun of the Dead / Hot Fuzz / The World’s End fame. (It’s the first video he’s made since Charlotte Hatherley’s 2005 single, “Bastardo.”) His treatment looks like a Gap Commercial dropped into Zhang Yimou’s Hero, with Autumnal woodlands with wuxia dancers flying through the air. Also hovering amongst the turning leaves are two giant stone Daft Punk heads. What does it all mean? Decide for yourself — watch the “Gust of Wind” video below.
