Paul Simon playing cancer research benefit in NYC w/ James Taylor, Bobby McFerrin & more

Paul Simon leads a lineup of other musicians including James Taylor, Bobby McFerrin and other unannounced guests who will be playing a cancer research benefit in NYC on January 20 in The Appel Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall (fka The Allen Room). The show is honor of the memory of saxophonist Michael Brecker, who’s performed with both Paul Simon and James Taylor, as well as Lou Reed Joni Mitchell, John Nolan, Eric Clapton, Roger Daltrey, Steely Dan and more.

Tickets, starting at $200, are on sale now. “Hugh Jackman and Deborra-lee Furness are the benefit chairs, and Meredith Viera will serve as master of ceremonies. Proceeds from the concert will support cancer research at Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC) and the work of Azra Raza, MD, and Siddhartha Mukherjee, MD, PhD.”

After that show, Paul will head out on an international tour of New Zealand, Australia and Europe. Those dates are listed here.
