A shooting went down at last night’s (11/3) Freddie Gibbs show at Rough Trade NYC in Williamsburg. Freddie Gibbs told the NY Post that they were going after him while he was sitting in a black GMC Denali outside the club. “They tried to kill Tupac. They tried to kill me. I’m still alive,” he said.

The article further reports that a law enforcement source said it was a single gunman who opened fire at 1:13 AM, and that two were shot. Both are believed to be part of Freddie’s entourage, but the police have not identified them at this time (update: one was Freddie’s tour DJ, DJ Izzo). Freddie told the NY Post that he took cover inside the venue after the shots were fired.

One person at the show posted the following message to Facebook last night: “rap shows,,, someone just shot up rough trade while we were in here. WTF!!! and the guy they were gunning for ran right behind the bar into the closet right near us!”. Then: “we’re all ok… bullet holes in the front door. someone had it out for Freddy Gibb I tell ya…”

The victims were both brought to Bellevue Hospital and are listed in stable condition.
