You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Julian Casablancas + The Voidz, Shabazz Palaces, Blood Orange @ Hammerstein Ballroom
Maybe Julian Casablancas has never made another record on par with the first two Strokes albums, but you gotta at least give him credit for trying something new and totally out there on his new album with The Voidz. Plus, the two openers alone would be an unmissable double bill.

Interpol, Lip Talk @ Terminal 5
On the other hand, Julian’s fellow turn-of-the-millenium flag-bearers of NYC cool, Interpol, have not changed it up on their new album. But if Interpol doing what Interpol does best is what you seek, you’ve probably already got tickets for tonight. Night 2 of 3 and all of them are sold out.

Blonde Redhead, People Get Ready @ Bowery Ballroom
NYC indie greats Blonde Redhead have tackled dream pop, noise rock, synth pop and more in their 20+ year career, and returned this year with their ninth album, Barragán. Tonight’s the first of three NYC shows on this tour, all with different openers. This one’s got the eclectic People Get Ready.

Hundred Waters, Mutual Benefit (solo) @ Rough Trade
Hundred Waters are supporting Interpol’s current tour, including last night’s and tomorrow’s Terminal 5 shows, but tonight they’re taking the chance to headline their own smaller show in NYC. Opening the show is a solo set from Mutual Benefit main man Jordan Lee, whose layered art pop is pretty likeminded to Hundred Waters.

The Blind Shake, Caddywhompus, Monograms @ Cake Shop
With a new album on Castle Face that is their rawest cut of animal beat garage proto-punk yet, The Blind Shake barrel into NYC for two shows. Tonight’s the first.

Nels Cline & Julian Lage @ SubCulture
Guitar great Nels Cline is best-known for playing with Wilco but is an improvisational wiz as well. Out this week is Room, his collaborative album with avant jazz guitarist, Julian Lage. The pair celebrate its release tonight.

Ex Cops, Ski Lodge, LODRO, Dinowalrus @ Glasslands
We’re now basically in the last month of Glasslands’ existence and this is one of the special farewell shows they’ve put together, full of some of Brooklyn’s superior indie pop talent.
