Of Montreal announce new LP, 'Aureate Gloom' (stream a track) ++ tour dates

Of Montreal are back with a new album, Aureate Gloom, which will be out March 3 via Polyvinyl. That’s the cover art above and album tracklist is below. Main man Kevin Barnes calls the new album “a golden despondency” on which he further elucidates:

I was going through a very stormy period in my life and felt like I was just completely trashed. I might be guilty of sharing or exposing too much of my private life, but to me the best albums are those that help people connect with an artist on a deep, human level and that do so without too much artifice or evasiveness.

The new album’s first single is “Bassem Sabry” which is definitely in the classic of Montreal bouncy, danceable style. Stream it below.

Kevin Barnes might play a few new songs when he performs at Baby’s All Right on Thursday (12/11) which is one of a handful of solo shows he’s been doing. Tickets are still available. Of Montreal have tour dates for 2015, too, though nothing in NYC yet. Those are listed below…
