People are really upset they're not getting into Foo Fighters at Irving Plaza tonight, others camped out overnight

Let’s do the math. A band, who just put out the 12th best album of the year (just kidding), and who feel confident enough to announce a show at Citi Field (capacity: 45,000+) (not kidding), is playing a show at Irving Plaza (capactity: 1000+). No tickets were available in advance, and a good portion are obviously going to the guestlist. This is the type of band people will camp out to see, and they’re giving tickets out first come, first served. Translation: YOU PROBABLY AREN’T GETTING IN, no matter what system they implement. If they gave out wristbands-good-for-a-ticket before 3pm (which was the time they said you couldn’t line up before), then that’s definitely kind of messed up, but then again, a giant mob of people showed up, and some of those people that got tickets slept in their spot in line last night! If you got there at 3pm and found out it was sold out already, at least you didn’t have to wait in line at all.

If you didn’t get tickets, look at it this way… you’re now free to see all the more interesting shows happening around town like tUnE-YaRds, Cibo Matto, Sharon Jones, Elvis Depressedly, Doomriders, Single Mothers, The Feelies, Philip Glass, and The Blow. Or you can set yourself up for even further disappointment by using your new found free time to try and weasel your way in to that Vice shindig.
