tUnE-YaRds, Cibo Matto, Beep! @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
tUnE-yArDs dove further into their world of quirky, eccentric pop on this year’s Nikki Nack, and Cibo Matto returned with their first album since 1999 which had them still in good form. Tonight concludes their four-night run at MHOW.

Fred Schneider, Lena Hall, Miriam Shor, David Johansen, Stephen Trask, Michael C. Hall, Tits of Clay @ The Hills NYC
Don Hill’s was the birthplace of Hedwig & the Angry Inch, and Stephen Trask returns to the venue (now called The Hills NYC) for this Don Hill tribute that also benefits benefitting youth addiction nonprofit Road Recovery. He’s brought current Hedwig start Michael C Hall (of Dexter and Six Feet Under), along with a few other notable friends.

Max Richter @ Bowery Ballroom
Great contemporary composer Max Richter is billing this show as ‘The Leftovers and The Blue Notebooks,’ the latter being the name of his acclaimed 2004 album and the former being the name of the HBO series that aired over the summer that he soundtracked.

Sloan Wainwright, Peter Stampfel, Cosy Sheridan, Muppeteer Peter Linz, Sam McTavey @ CIty Winery
While Rufus and Martha’s holiday shows are still to come, tonight their aunt Sloan (who also plays their show) does her own smaller holiday show at City Winery. Especially of note on the lineup is folk legend Peter Stampfel.

Kendra Morris, Kiah Victoria, The Side Project, Quiet Life @ Brooklyn Bowl
Diverse lineup for Brooklyn Bowl’s “School Night!” show tonight with soul singer Kendra Morris, electropop singer Kiah Victoria, saxophone quartet The Side Project, and folk/roots rockers Quiet Life. Free with RSVP which is open til 3 PM, or $8 at the door without

Avan Lava, Reverend John DeLore @ Littlefield
Tonight is a benefit for Andrew Schneider’s multimedia art project YOUARENOWHERE, featuring a live performance by over-the-top dance act Avan Lava. Admission includes a drink ticket.

X blank X, Blues Control, Silk Purse @ Monty Hall (NJ)
Mid 70’s Cleveland art punk band X__X reformed earlier in 2014 for their first live shows in 35 years.

Trivia Night For Cheaters w/ John Hodgman @ The Bell House
John Hodgman takes advantage of his know-it-all persona as quizmaster for this night benefitting for kids’ creative writing outlet 826NYC.
