Wild Beasts release 2 new songs for interactive novel (stream) ++ special edition of new LP w/ remixes by Foals & more

Wild Beasts

Wild Beasts, whose fourth album, Present Tense, came out back in February, have released two new songs which are available to download now. One is “Soft Future,” the band’s first-ever instrumental, and the second is “Blood Knowledge.” Both tracks were specially written to accompany a online interactive GIF novel from Parisian illustrator Mattis Dovier:

Back in September, Wild Beasts got together with Mattis and set out to create something unique for The Jameson Works which responded to the simple brief of ‘Storytelling’. The result is a sequence of GIF animations which visualise the stories of two unreleased Wild Beasts tracks, ‘Soft Future’ and ‘Blood Knowledge’. The GIF-Novel tells two alternate stories, the story of a human experiencing a robot’s world for Soft Future, and a robot exploring a human’s world for Blood Knowledge.

You can check out that here and you can stream both new songs below.

In other news, Wild Beasts just released a special digital edition of Present Tense which contains a CD’s worth of remixes from the likes of The Field, Juan Atkins, Factory Floor, SOHN and Foals‘ take on “Palace” which you can stream below as well.
