Runaway Brother

As discussed, Runaway Brother are releasing their debut LP, Mother, on March 31 via Tiny Engines, and now they’ve put out its first single, “Moth.” Like their early EPs, “Moth” is rooted in oddball pop punk (think Say Anything, Piebald, etc), and like those bands it also reaches musical heights that bands normally considered “pop punk” rarely do. Check it out, via Stereogum, below.

Runaway Brother also have dates coming up this week, including a previously discussed BrooklynVegan-presented show with Slingshot Dakota on Saturday (1/10) at Baby’s All Right. Since we last spoke, we’ve added two more bands to that bill: xylophone-fueled folk punks Crazy & the Brains and mathy/dancey instrumental rockers Vasudeva. I’ll also be DJing between sets. Tickets for Saturday’s show are still available.

All Runaway Brother dates are listed, with the new song stream and songs from the two newly-added openers, below…

Runaway Brother – “Moth”

Crazy & the Brains – “Let Me Go”

Vasudeva – Life In Cycles
