The Silver Jews are back, practiced last night

David Berman retired The Silver Jews (and denounced his corporate lobbyist father) in 2009, famously writing on the Drag City message board, “I always said we would stop before we got bad. If I continue to record I might accidentally write the answer song to ‘Shiny Happy People’.” Something has changed with that opinion, apparently (or maybe he’s come up with a good answer to “Shiny Happy People”), as it looks like The Silver Jews are back in action. As Stereogum noted, Bob Nastanovich (who formed the band with Berman and Stephen Malkmus in 1989) took the above picture and posted it on his Facebook last night with this caption: “After Jews practice tonight!!!! ’tis cold in Nashville.” Stay tuned!
