Hot Nerds releasing 'Strategically Placed Bananas' (listen)

San Diego’s Hot Nerds make spastic rock that owes as much to dissonant Dischord-style post-hardcore as it does to Baltimore’s experimental pop scene of the late ’00s. Frontman Nathan Joyner also is/was in All Leather and Some Girls with The Locust’s Justin Pearson, and Justin’s brand of wacky post-hardcore is a reference point here too. They’re signed to Justin’s label, Three One G Records, and will release their debut album, Strategically Placed Bananas (like the one on the cover art above), on March 10 (pre-order).
