Baltimore’s Have Mercy and Boston’s Somos are releasing a split EP this week (2/24) on Somos’ new label home No Sleep (pre-order). It has an acoustic version of Have Mercy’s “Two Years” from their 2014 LP, and their cover of Jackson Browne’s “Somebody’s Baby,” plus an acoustic version of Somos’ “Domestic” from their 2014 LP, and their brand new song “Streets Upon Streets.” Like their recent split with Sorority Noise did, “Streets Upon Streets” has Somos continuing to quickly progress. This one puts some Braid-worthy melodies up against Minus the Bear-style guitar workouts. It’s a great track. A full stream of the EP premieres in this post and can be listened to below.

Somos have an upcoming tour with Tigers Jaw and Lemuria, which hits NYC on May 6 at MHOW and May 7 at Bowery Ballroom. Tickets for both are still available.

Have Mercy have a tour with Weatherbox hitting NYC on March 14 at The Studio at Webster Hall (tickets), and they also play a free Brooklyn Night Bazaar show on Friday (2/27) with Banquets, Heeney and others.
