The Waterboys releasing new album, touring this spring, playing Irving Plaza (dates, LP stream)

The Waterboys will release their new album, Modern Blues, on April 7. Out already in the UK, it’s their first album of entirely original songs in eight years (2013’s An Appointment with Mr Yeats set music to WB Yeats’ poetry) and you can listen to the whole thing via YouTube below.

Mike Scott and the rest of the band will be on tour this spring in support of the new album, including a stop in NYC on April 25 at Irving Plaza. Tickets for that show go on Live Nation and Music Geeks presale today at 10 AM (password: MUSICGEEKS) and go on sale to the general public Friday (2/13) at 10 AM.
