Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson performing with ACME ensemble & Roomful of Teeth at The Met's Temple of Dendur

Acclaimed Icelandic composer and Golden Globe winner (for his The Theory of Everything score), Jóhann Jóhannsson is in NYC currently where he’ll perform on Tuesday (3/17) at The Met’s Temple of Dendur. He’ll be joined by the American Contemporary Music Ensemble (ACME) and the 2014 Grammy Award-winning vocal ensemble Roomful of Teeth to perform two world premiere pieces, “Chaconne,” performed by violinist Yuki Numata Resnick; and “Drone Mass,” which is a “contemporary oratorio which fuses the sounds of string quartet, electronics, and vocals, and uses texts based on the Coptic Gospel of the Egyptians.” Tickets are still available.
