Music legends The Fall will release their 31st album, Sub-Lingual Tablet, on May 12 via Cherry Red. The record runs the gammut from Stooges-style punk to dancey electronics. You can stream “First One Today” (complete with semi-inteligible intro by Mark. E. Smith) below and you can listen to higher fidelity samples from the whole album over at Amazon.co.uk.

The current lineup of The Fall has held together since about 2006 and now features two drummers (a configuration the band has had a couple times in the past). They haven’t played North America in about 10 years, but UK and European dates are listed below.

In other news WFMU DJ Brian Turner will be hosting an all-Fall edition of his show on April 21 from 3-6PM. It will feature call-in interviews with former Fall members Brix Smith-Start, Stephen Hanley (who released a book about his time in the band) and Marc Riley, a live set of Fall covers by Spectre Folk, and rare live recordings from Turner’s own collection.
